Why never style and substance? by admin

I really need some decent headphones for listening to music, these in-ear earphone types hurt after a while so I need a decent pair of proper headphones.

I saw a gorgeous pair in Pull and Bear, but there were £26 and as it's a fashion brand I don't feel like I can trust that they'll last. I don't want to spend £26 on headphones that will fail after a few months!

There are decent brand ones for similar prices that I'd trust more, but they're all plain and ugly. Why can't something be good quality and serves its purpose, but also look nice while doing it?

I'm going to end up ordering a boring pair online on some website that also sells R4 3DS cards so I can save on postage because I'm canny like that. But I'd much rather find a nice looking funky pair from a decent brand.

Annoying!

Car lovers, help! by admin

I've just got my first car, and now I'm looking online at LV= for some car insurance for it, but I'm completely lost. My friend told me I should've checked out insurance prices before I bought the car but I didn't (oops!) and now I'm trying to work out what I need.

It looks just like this but blue:

It's a Mini Cooper S, which apparently means it's more sporty. I don't care what the insurance on it is, I have a mini at long last! I've always loved old minis and used to play the mini game when I was young, but the new ones are so cute and soft and streamlined looking, I can't believe I have one!

So insurance, I need full cover, not any of this third party only stuff, should I pay extra for things like EU cover and courtesy car? I'm not really going to travel much in it I need someone to just do it for me, it's so boring!

I need one of these in my life... by admin

Apple have just announced their new line of iMacs, and oh my god, if I didn't just want one before, I certainly need one now!

The new ones come with next-generation quad-core Intel processors (wow), up to 3x faster graphics, Thunderbolt ultra-fast connectivity ports and built-in FaceTime cameras in HD. Plus all the usual fantasticness of a mac computer - ease of use, endless functionality, and the unending support of the Apple store whenever you might come up with a problem.

I was planning on taking the iMac leap on my next payday, but now I'm just thinking of taking out one of those Wonga.com loans and getting it now. Why wait? I might even go the extra mile and get the 27 inch screen. Ahh, I don't think I'll ever leave my house again!

It's scary getting old... by admin

We had a bit of a scare over the weekend, my grandma called my mum on Saturday morning to say she was on her way to the hospital with my grandpa because he'd tripped and fallen on the stairs in their house.

We all rushed to the hospital and luckily he was okay, but he did break his arm and has to have it in a cast for a while. It was pretty scary seeing them in the hospital like that, they're in their 80s now but they've always been so strong and sprightly, it's hard to think that we all get so much more vulnerable with age.

My grandma's had a problem with her leg for years now, so my mum and I went to a Stannah Stairlifts dealer on Sunday to find out more about installing one in my grandparent's house. I know they'll say they don't need it - there's nothing like a stairlift to make you feel old - but if it makes their lives just a little bit easier and can stop the family from worrying about it I think it'll be worth it.

Mother’s Day by admin

I woke up this morning with a start – it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday and I haven’t organised anything! Crap!

As soon as I got in to work, it was straight onto the computer, with my bowl of cereal and searching for ideas. Flowers? Boring! Clothes? I won’t ever get the right colour or style. Chocolates? ‘I’m on a diet!’

By midday I decided to ask everyone around the office what they had bought their mums. There was a couple of: ‘Oh just a card’, ‘flowers’, ‘dinner’. But nothing amazing!

By 2pm I was getting frustrated. I kept having stupid adverts pop up on my screen for me to compare gas and electricity prices and holiday offers and all I really wanted was a present idea!

Then I got it! A day out! I would take her out for the day for a surprise. Sorted! This means I can write the card with ‘I am taking you out’ and by myself some time to plan it! Phew! Happy Mother’s Day mum!
